The first step is scheduling a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly talk about what you’re hoping for in therapy, answer your questions, and see if we might be a good fit.
You Might Be Wondering…
What if my experiences don’t seem “bad enough” to talk about?
Emotional pain doesn’t always come from one clear or dramatic event. Sometimes it comes from what was missing — emotional support, understanding, or space to express your needs. Over time, those experiences can shape how you see yourself and how you move through relationships.
If something has been weighing on you or affecting your life, it’s worth exploring. You don’t have to prove that your experiences were “bad enough” for them to matter.
Do I have to be in crisis to start therapy?
Not at all. Many people begin therapy simply because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or curious about themselves and their patterns. You don’t need a clear explanation for why you’re seeking support — if something feels heavy or difficult to carry alone, therapy can help.
What if I have tried therapy before and it didn't help?
That’s more common than you might think. Not every therapeutic relationship or approach is the right fit. We can talk about what didn’t work previously and explore what you’re hoping for this time.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is simply a conversation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping might change.
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance, and you don’t have to share more than you’re comfortable with. Some people come with a clear story to tell, while others simply know that something feels heavy or stuck. Both are welcome.
My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and begin to understand the patterns, experiences, and strengths that shape your life.
Most importantly, the first session helps us get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
If you’d like to connect first, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
What you can expect
I offer therapy in English and Spanish — and Spanglish when it fits. Language carries culture, humor, and identity, so you’re welcome to show up in whatever way feels most natural.
Our work is collaborative. You are the expert in your own life, and your experiences guide the process, alongside my training, perspective, and support.
I may reference movies, music, or memes — sometimes all in the same session. Dark humor, cursing, eye-rolls, and everything in between are welcome here. All of it is part of being human.
At the same time, therapy is intentional. We approach difficult truths with care, creating space for curiosity, clarity, and authentic growth. We prioritize nervous system safety, building steadiness before moving into deeper work.
Some days we may focus on insight and reflection. Other days we may focus on practical tools or processing deeper experiences.
You don’t have to tell your whole story at once, and you don’t need to be “perfectly ready.” Your pace, your boundaries, and your voice matter here.
If you’re curious about working together, reach out with any questions you may have.
